Ground proof — hectares, patches and coordinates

Pick a real Pune location — the ring road alignment at Wagholi, the quarry belt, the expressway at Talegaon, Khadakwasla reservoir — and get measured numbers from two dated pictures: how much ground was cleared, in how many patches, where the biggest one sits, and how much water the reservoir holds.

Open ground proof

Free satellite feeds — nothing to sign up for

Sentinel-2 colour covers Pune every 2-3 days at 10 m per pixel, and the NASA true-colour picture is published every day. Both are open data, so every watch site can be re-checked at no cost.

Sharp archive comparison

Every scan downloads the dated satellite pictures of that exact patch of ground from the Esri World Imagery archive and measures how much of the frame changed between one publication and the next.

  • What is real: the pictures, their dates and the change percentage. Nothing is simulated — the same two images can be opened and shown in a hearing.
  • Speed versus detail: the free feeds that arrive every day are too coarse to show one pit, and the picture sharp enough to show a pit only arrives every few months. A same-day sharp picture has to be booked and paid for.
  • Accuracy: brightness and haze are cancelled out before comparison, and settled built-up areas score 1–3% between captures. Above 4% means something on the ground genuinely moved; above 12% is usually new construction, excavation or a large water-level shift.
  • What it cannot do: tell you who did the work, or separate seasonal crop and water change from illegal activity. Treat every red flag as a reason to send an officer, not as proof.
